St Joseph’s Convent High school, a minority school was established in 1853 to provide an all-round education to girls. A Hindi section (Bihar Board) was added in 1950. In 2014 Bihar Board Hindi section converted to English medium. Both the schools ICSE and Bihar Board serve the educational needs of all sections of the society, regardless of caste, creed or financial status. Today girls are prepared for the ICSE, ISC and Bihar Examination Board. The school is run by the sisters of the Congregation of Jesus in collaboration with competent and well qualified teachers.
